In the hush between thought and breath,
Where silence deepens beyond death,
There rises a shadow clothed in night
Adya Ma, primordial light.

Before Brahma’s head fell to ground,
Before mantras circled or drums made sound,
You danced alone in timeless space
The womb of cosmos, time and place.

Four Vedas sing Your endless praise;
The fifth Veda Bhairava lays.
Procedures crumble at Your feet;
In You, all destinies meet.

Not in gold nor silken thread
But ashes mark the path we tread.
Bloodline memories stir and burn;
To You alone our spirits turn.

You are the hunger that births desire,
The flame that purifies through fire.
You hold within both form and void
All worlds sustained, all forms destroyed.

O Mother clad in starless sky,
Kali fierce with flaming eye,
Who wears the skulls of time now dead
We place our longing at Your tread.

No temple holds Your boundless heart;
You move us whole and tear apart.
To know You is to lose all claim:
To die in ego, be reborn in Name.

So let this seeker be unmade;
Let rituals fall and roles all fade.
Only Your love remains
Adya Ma, I am become.

Jai Ma Adya
